Gaining confidence using digital technology

Have you ever thought that mobile gadgets like phones and tablets are a bit awkward to use? Do you feel a bit lost in the world of the internet? You are not the only one!

We run regular Learn Together Clubs around Hackney. These are 10 week programmes provided in community locations that aim to help older people (over 60) find their own way through the digital maze.

The sessions focus on what people want to know – whether it’s how to do their shopping online, register with their GP, get WiFi on their phone, or look up a train timetable.

MRS Learn Together Clubs are funded by Connect Hackney as part of the national Ageing Better programme and are free to attend.

Don't worry if you don't have your own phone or tablet - you can learn on one of our tablets.

Current and future locations

Our current Learn Together Club is running at Victoria Park Community Centre every Wednesday afternoon until 10 July 2019. There are two sessions: 12.30-2.15pm, and 2.30-4.30pm. Come along to whichever session you prefer, or stick around for both and join us for something to eat over lunch.

From 18 July 2019 we'll be popping in Clapton Library for 10 weeks until 19 September. These sessions will be held every Thursday afternoon from 2-4pm.

Volunteer opportunities

We are looking for volunteers to support our weekly Learn Together Clubs and carry out one-to-one home visits. Find out more.
