Adaptations Fitter
Do you have practical skills (e.g. from working in the trades) and the ability to use hand and power tools safely? Are you seeking a new role that puts these skills to use, making people’s homes safer so they can continue to live in their own home?
As an Adaptations Fitter, you will be instrumental in enabling people with physical and mobility needs to stay independent and achieve a safe living environment at home. Working primarily in the London Borough of Islington, you will install minor home adaptations such as grab rails and stair rails, and supply and fit disability aids. Your work will directly support referrals from the London Borough of Islington's Occupational Therapy team and help people with support needs navigate their homes with greater ease and safety.
This is a permanent, part-time position (0.6 FTE), working 3 days per week with a salary of £27,398 pro rata per annum. You will be based in service users' homes, predominantly in the London Borough of Islington. Following initial training, you will mostly work independently in the community, with ongoing support and supervision from the Senior Trusted Assessor and Adaptations Fitter. There will also be an opportunity to train as a Trusted Assessor once you are settled in the role.
If you are ready to use your skills to improve the quality of life for individuals in Islington, we encourage you to apply!
